Video: Shikhar Dhawan's hilarious reply on his captaincy style

Team India’s incredible bench strength of talented cricketers has not only taken the Indian cricket to the next level but also given big opportunities to a vast pool of players and coaches. On Friday, Shikhar Dhawan became the seventh player to captain Team India in 2022. The Delhi batter joined Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, who got the opportunity to lead the Men-in-Blue this year.

Shikhar Dhawan played a captain's knock by scoring 97 (99 balls) on Friday, as India managed to beat West Indies in a last ball thriller to get a 1-0 lead in a three match series.

Before the start of the match, Dhawan gave a funny reply on being asked about 'what type of captain you are,' by former West Indies cricketer Darren Ganga. In his typical style, Dhawan said that he is a 'cool captain.'


"I am a very cool captain. I make sure the team's energy stays up and of course I love to take all the right decisions and keep the process going," commented Dhawan.

"The bench strength is complementary to domestic and IPL cricket. This is a great opportunity to showcase talent, show fight, and win the series. Surya, Shreyas, Samson are all good. Even myself (laughs). We get support here, from abroad and locals which is good," Dhawan added.
