Veteran Punjabi actor Daljeet Kaur dies at 69

Daljeet Kaur, a popular performer known for playing some memorable roles in many superhit Punjabi films, passed away on Thursday in Punjab's Ludhiana, according to a family member. She was 69 years old.

According to her cousin, Harinder Singh Khangura, Daljeet had a brain tumor, and she battled it for three years. She had been in a coma for the last year. Kaur died early in the morning at her cousin's home in Sudhar. Khangura stated that her last rites had been performed.

Mika Singh, a singer, paid a poignant tribute to the late actress on Twitter. He wrote that the beautiful actress and Punjab legend has left us with her beautiful memories. May God bless her soul and grant her eternal rest.




Veteran actor Satish Shah also paid tribute to the actress on Twitter, stating that his beloved friend and batchmate Daljeet Kaur, a former Punjabi lead actress, died on the 17th of this month. May her soul rest in peace forever.



She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and began her film career in 1976 with flim 'Daaz.'

Kaur had appeared in several successful films, including Mamla Garbar Hai, Putt Jattan De, Patola, Ki Banu Duniya Da, and Saida Jogan.

Daljeet was one of Pollywood's best-known actors. She took a sabbatical from acting after the unfortunate death of her husband, Harminder Singh Deol, in a car accident.
