Veteran movie producer K Muralidharan passes away due to heart attack. Celebrities pay tributes

South India film industry veteran K Muralidharan died because of a heart attack in his hometown Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, today. He was a prominent producer of the Southern film industry. He produced a number of hit films including Pudhupettai, Anbe Sivam, and Bagavathi.

Besides being a film producer, he was also the former president of the Tamil Producers Council. He started his film production career with his first film in 1994. His first film as a producer was Aranmanai Kavalan, in which Sarathkumar was the hero.

The name of Muralidharan's production house is Lakshmi Movie makers (LMM). His partners in the production house were G Venugopal and the late V Swaminathan.

His production house LMM made Anbe Sivam with Kamal Hassan, Gokulathil Seethai with Karthik, and Pudhupettai with Dhanush. They also made Ulavathurai with Vijayakanth, Silambattam starring Simbu, and Priyamudan starring Vijay. One of their movies was Unnai Thedi, where Ajith was the hero.

Paying tribute to Muralidharan, Kamal Hassan paid his tribute on Twitter in Tamil, stating that the producer was no more and he remembered the days he worked with K Muralidharan.

Manobala, the actor cum director, also paid his tribute on Twitter, saying the death news shocked him.
