'Ved' Box Office Collection: Riteish Deshmukh starrer becomes second-highest-earning Marathi film

Riteish Deshmukh's debut Marathi film, 'Ved' has earned 55 crores so far, making it the second-highest-earning Marathi film behind Sairat, which was released in 2016. Ved was released on December 30, 2022. Riteish who also acts in the film with actor-wife Genelia D'souza, not only received plaudits for his acting and directing but has also proved to be a box-office hit.


The box office performance of Riteish Deshmukh's film which is a replica of the 2019 romance drama Telugu film, Majili has been encouraging. Ved made 33.42 crores in its first two weeks of release, and now, in its fourth weekend, the Marathi film has made 55 crores. Ved was reportedly created on a budget of roughly 15 crores.



Apart from Riteish and Genelia, Salman Khan makes a surprise cameo in Ved, as seen in the song Ved Lavlay. Genelia makes her Marathi cinema debut as well. Genelia and Riteish were also seen together in the comic picture Mister Mummy, which was released last year on November 18. Following her return to acting, Genelia is allegedly contemplating a return to Telugu cinema with an unnamed film starring Karnataka's former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy's son Kireeti. Radha Krishna will direct the multilingual film in Telugu and Kannada.


Riteish will next be featured in the forthcoming horror-comedy Kakuda, co-starring Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem, as well as Sajid Khan's comedy 100 percent, co-starring John Abraham, Nora Fatehi, and Shehnaaz Gill.
