In the world of Kollywood, two of the biggest stars, Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar, went head to head as their films, Varisu and Thunivu, respectively, were released on January 11th. Both films had a successful run at the box office, with Varisu positioning itself in the Rs 150 Cr club and Thunivu crossing the Rs 100 Cr milestone. Despite the films slowing down in recent weeks, they have managed to maintain a stable pace.
According to early trade reports, Varisu earned Rs 2 Cr on the 18th day of its release, bringing its total collection to over Rs 160 Cr. This is almost Rs 50 cr more than Ajith's Thunivu.
