'Varisu' vs 'Thunivu' Box Office Collection Day 12: Varisu nears 150 cr club in India, Thunivu crosses 100 cr

The box office is in fact being dominated by South Indian movies. 'Varisu', 'Thunivu', 'Veera Simha Reddy', and 'Waltair Veerayya' are three of the four major South Indian movies that have surpassed the 100 crore milestone. Varisu is now on track to earn Rs 150 Cr net at the Indian box office. Tamil movie Thunivu has slowed down, while Vijay's movie Varisu has kept things moving at the box office.


The movie starring Vijay is doing incredibly well at the box office. The movie will soon reach another milestone of Rs 150 Cr after joining the Rs 100 Cr club in India. Early trading data indicate that 'Varisu' made over Rs 8 cr on the 12th day after its introduction. With this, the movie's overall revenue has increased to or over Rs 149 Cr.



On the other hand, Ajith's movie is losing steam. According to preliminary estimates, the Tamil film made Rs 4 Cr on day 12, which is less than half of what Varisu made on the same day. The movie has made over Rs 100 Cr and has a total of Rs 105 Cr, although it is still far behind Varisu in terms of revenue. It will be extremely tough for the movie to equal the collections of Varisu with the collections declining.
