Dhanush's most anticipated film, 'Vaathi,' was released in theatres yesterday, February 17. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, is a social drama about education. Samyuktha played the female lead, and Samuthirakani played the antagonist. Fans have given the film positive reviews, and actor Dhanush has received critical acclaim for his performance as a teacher in the film.


The film was released as 'Vaathi' in Tamil and 'Sir' in Telugu, and it was expected to gross Rs 14 crore on day one at the box office. According to reports, Dhanush's film soared high on day one, with the film earning Rs 8 crore at the box office in Tamil Nadu alone, and the film earning Rs 15 crore in India net.



Vaathi tells the story of a government junior Maths lecturer who goes to great lengths to educate a village's underprivileged students about corporate exploitation. Dhanush is one of the lecturers who is sent as a faculty after the chairman of a private educational institution announces the adoption of several government colleges to provide better education to students in rural areas. He falls in love with a teacher, played by Samyuktha, who believes they can help the college. Dhanush, on the other hand, begins fighting the education mafia after discovering the true purpose of sending them to rural areas.


Vaathi is produced by the renowned Sithara Entertainments in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas. J Yuvraj, cinematographer, and G. V. Prakash Kumar, music director, collaborated to achieve the highest visual and audio quality.
