US man creates history by pushing peanut up Pikes Peak with his nose

Peanuts are not only meant for eating. They might also help you create records!

As strange as it may sound, a US man has broken a record for pushing a peanut up a mountain with his nose. With this, Bob Salem, 53,has become the first person in the 21st century to push a peanut up Pikes Peak, the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Bob, who is based out of Colorado, used a contraption taped to his nose to create the record. It took him nearly a week to complete his journey. Bob began his journey on July 9 and reached the top of the American mountain on July 15.




A ceremonial finish was organised the same day, where he was greeted with cheers and letters from city of Manitou Springs and the mayor.

The City of Manitou Springs government has shared videos where Bob can be seen in action to complete his nutty task. It had also launched a webpage to help track the progress of the peanut push.

With this feat, Bob has become the fourth person in the history to push a peanut up the mountain. Ulysses Baxter completed the push in 1963. He took eight days to reach the top of the Pikes peak.
