UPSC website down? User says 'server down since the last 5-6 hours'

Several UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination (UPSC CSE Prelims 2024) applicants faced a stressful situation on Tuesday as the official UPSC server reportedly went down just hours before the application deadline.

This caused anxiety and frustration among candidates who were attempting to submit their applications electronically.

"Server down since the last 5-6 hours! Please extend the deadline by 1 or 2 days," one user pleaded on social media, highlighting the impact of the outage on their ability to submit their application on time.



Another user echoed the concern, stating, "UPSC server down since morning. How are we supposed to submit our applications?"


The issue wasn't limited to just server access. Some users reported facing difficulties receiving the one-time passwords (OTPs) needed for verification. "Dear UPSC, the website is not working since last night," one user wrote. "I haven't received any OTP despite trying multiple times. Please resolve this issue or extend the deadline, sir."


As the deadline approached, the pressure mounted for many applicants. "We are unable to complete the application form as the server has been down for the past hour," another user expressed their urgency. "We only have 60 minutes left! Please don't play with our futures and extend the deadline. Many students couldn't complete their applications due to this technical issue."
