UPSC NDA, CDS 2025: Application deadline extended; Check new last date, eligibility, direct link & key tips

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the last date to apply for the NDA & NA (II) 2025 and CDS (II) 2025 exams. Candidates now have time till 11:59 PM on 20 June 2025 to submit their online applications on the official website, upsc.gov.in.

The original deadline was 17 June, but this extension gives more time to interested candidates to apply for these defence recruitment exams.

What is the NDA & NA (II) 2025 Exam?

This exam recruits for a total of 406 posts under the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy. Here's the vacancy breakdown:

Army – 208 posts (10 for women)
Navy – 42 posts (5 for women)
Air Force (Flying) – 92 posts (2 for women)
Air Force Ground Duty (Technical) – 18 posts (2 for women)
Air Force Ground Duty (Non-Technical) – 10 posts (2 for women)
Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme) – 36 posts (4 for women)

Eligibility:
Unmarried boys and girls
Born between 1 January 2007 and 1 January 2010
Must pass a written test and an SSB interview (includes intelligence and personality tests)

Fee:
General category: Rs 100
SC/ST, women, and children of JCOs/NCOs/ORs: No fee

What is the CDS (II) 2025 Exam?

This exam will fill 453 posts in the following defence academies:
Indian Military Academy, Dehradun – 100 posts
Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala – 26 posts
Air Force Academy, Hyderabad – 32 posts
Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Men) – 276 posts
Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Women) – 19 posts

Eligibility:

• Graduation required for IMA and OTA
• Engineering degree for INA
• Physics and Maths in 10+2 or B.E. degree for AFA
• Age limit: 20 to 24 years
• Must be unmarried
• Specific birth date rules apply for each academy

Fee:

• General category: Rs 200
• SC/ST and women: No fee
