The CMS Examination 2025 was held on July 20, 2025, followed by the Personality Test (Part II) conducted between October and December 2025. Based on performance in both stages, the UPSC has recommended candidates for appointment to various medical posts under the Central government and allied bodies.
Category I appointments and category-wise breakup
Under Category I, which includes Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of the Central Health Service, the UPSC has recommended 363 candidates for appointment. Of these, 162 candidates are from the General category, including nine persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD).The Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) account for 43 candidates. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) category includes 75 candidates, along with two persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). The Scheduled Caste (SC) category has 57 candidates, including one PwBD, while the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category comprises 21 candidates, including two PwBD candidates.

Category II selections and posts on offer
For Category II, the UPSC has recommended 449 candidates for appointment. Of these, 182 candidates are from the General category, including 10 persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). The Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category includes 49 candidates, along with one PwBD, while the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category accounts for 113 candidates, including six PwBD candidates.

Candidates selected under Category II will be considered for appointment to the following posts:
- Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways
- General Duty Medical Officer in the New Delhi Municipal Council
- General Duty Medical Officer (Grade II) in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi
