UP School Winter Timing: Uttar Pradesh witnessed a chilly Wednesday that not only impacted daily life but also led to a series of car accidents, claiming at least eight lives and injuring thirty others. With visibility reduced to less than 20 meters in many areas, the heavy fog prompted the UP government to make adjustments to the school schedule.

The UP government has declared a 15-day winter vacation, offering respite from December 31 to January 14, 2024. Acknowledging the challenging weather conditions, authorities have modified the opening and closing times for secondary and higher secondary schools due to the heavy fog and cold weather. Moreover, Thursday and Friday have been designated as holidays for schools in various locations across Uttar Pradesh.

In Ghaziabad, the District Magistrate's directive prompted the adjustment of school hours for Classes 1 through 8, now scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm. Aligarh, including all board schools affiliated with Aligarh Muslim University, will observe closures from Class 1 to Class 12 on Thursday and Friday. Mathura has revised school hours to be from 10 am to 3 pm, while 1st to 8th-grade schools in Jalaun will remain closed until December 31.
