The Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the UP PGT Notification 2026 for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers and Lecturers in non-government aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh. Under Advertisement No. 06/2026, the Commission is seeking to fill 2,607 vacancies.

The notification was issued on September 15, 2026, while the online application process is scheduled to begin on September 18. Candidates must complete the mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) before submitting their applications. The deadline for application fee payment is October 17, and the correction or editing window will remain available until October 21. The written examination is scheduled for December 15 and 16, 2026.

Of the total 2,607 vacancies, 2,329 are for boys’ schools and 278 are for girls’ schools. The vacancies cover subjects including Hindi, English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce, History, Sanskrit, Geography, Biology and Civics, among others.

The eligibility requirements vary according to the subject. In general, candidates are required to hold a postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject from a recognised university along with an NCTE-recognised B.Ed. degree.

UP PGT age limit 2026

The age of applicants will be calculated as on July 1, 2026. The minimum age requirement is 21 years, while the maximum age is linked to the superannuation age of 62 years under the applicable recruitment rules.

Candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories will receive reservation and other applicable benefits according to Uttar Pradesh government rules.

UP PGT application form 2026

Candidates must first complete their One Time Registration before applying for the recruitment. After completing OTR, applicants can access the application form through the UPESSC portal.

UP PGT exam pattern 2026

The recruitment examination consists of a written test followed by an interview. The written examination carries 360 marks, while the interview accounts for 40 marks, taking the total selection process to 400 marks.

The written paper will contain 120 objective questions. Of these, 30 questions will test general knowledge and 90 will be based on the concerned subject. Each correct answer will carry three marks, while an incorrect or multiple selection will result in a deduction of one mark.
