A private hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj has been served with a demolition noticed shortly after it emerged on social media that a dengue patient was administered mosambi juice intravenously instead of blood platelets

Prayagraj Development Authority issued a notice to Global Hospital and Trauma Center to vacate the building by October 28 saying it was 'illegally constructed'.

Reports on Wednesday said the building was likely to be bulldozed and that the hospital authorities have been given a deadline to clear out within two days.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has assured strict action against the hospital if they are found guilty. He said that the platelets packet has been sent for testing.

"Taking cognizance of the viral video of Jhalwa-based Global Hospital offering 'mosambi' juice to a dengue patient in place of platelets in the district Prayagraj, the hospital has been immediately sealed and the platelets packet has been sent for testing. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against the hospital," Pathak tweeted in Hindi.

After a preliminary inquiry showed irresponsible behavior of the authorities and a lack of staff, the hospital was sealed last week, and all the patients were removed.

The family of the dengue patient has accused the hospital of administering sweet lime (mosambi) juice in a polythene bag labelled 'plasma.' The patient's condition deteriorated after the juice transfusion, and he died when shifted to another hospital.

His relatives claim the doctors at another hospital informed them that the disputed platelet bag had a mix of chemicals and mosambi juice.

Though the medical report on whether the questionable platelet bag had juice is not public yet, the patient's family demanded the state government take strict action against the hospital authorities.
