The students of Classes 1 to 8 will be promoted without an exam for the academic session 2022-23 according to the new notification issued by the Secretary of UP Basic Education Council.

The new notification will cover all the students of classes 1 to 8 studying in the recognised council schools and the schools operated by UP Basic Education Council. The annual scorecard of the UP Board is also going to be released today.
The students will be distributed their scorecards which will have their performances evaluated on the basis of annual assessment and examinations of the students in the schools. The RTE Act, 2009 on the basis of which the UP government has issued the new notification guarantees the children from 6 to 14 years of age, free and compulsory education.
The RTE Act mandates the government to ensure compulsory admission and attendance of the students and completion of elementary education of the children. The act also allows the students of Classes 1 to 8 to be promoted to the next class without an exam.
