Local resident and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande expressed concerns regarding the safety of the swimmers and demanded answers about how the crocodile managed to find its way into the swimming pool. He said, "From where the crocodile came into the swimming pool" needs to be investigated.
An instructor informed the media that a few weeks ago, a snake had also entered the same swimming pool, which happens to be one of the largest facilities operated by the civic body in Mumbai, causing a significant panic among the swimmers.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the baby crocodile may have bitten a civic employee at the pool; however, officials have chosen not to comment on this matter.
