"Unacceptable": Anand Mahindra on Mumbai billboard collapse incident
Anand Mahindra condemned the Mumbai hoarding collapse, calling for strict safety measures in a city aspiring to be a modern metropolis. He emphasized the need for stringent rules and mentioned various key entities involved in the incident.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Mahindra said such incidents are unacceptable and wondered how can such things happen in a city which is vying to be a modern metropolis. Mahindra further said that stringent rules needed to avoid such accidents.
"14 dead. Om Shanti. 60 injured. From a billboard collapse. Unacceptable. And we’re a city trying to transform itself into a modern metropolis. CM @mieknathshinde has ordered a probe into all hoardings. Stringent rules must follow," Mahindra said in the tweet.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the hoarding collapse incident in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area has risen to 14 while 74 people are injured, civic officials said on Tuesday morning.
The 100-foot-tall illegal billboard fell at a petrol pump in Ghatkopar during dust storms and unseasonal rains that lashed Mumbai on Monday. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, search and rescue operations were going on at the Chheda Nagar-based petrol pump on Tuesday morning.
