Coroner rules Georgia Brooke, 26, from Ossett, UK, unlawfully killed by boyfriend Luke Cannon during sex involving GHB and cocaine in Bradford. Death deemed 'sex game gone wrong' by Coroner Fleming. Dr. Johnson identifies neck compression as prima...

Dr. Christopher Johnson, a forensic pathologist, determined that Georgia's primary cause of death on February 2, 2022, was neck compression, which was forceful and prolonged, according to the report. Toxic levels of GHB were also found in her system. The investigation revealed Georgia had a sexual interest in "choking."
Coroner Martin Fleming, as cited by YorkshrireLive, concluded that Georgia's death resulted from unlawful killing, characterizing the incident as a "sex game that went wrong." He highlighted the dangers and recklessness of such practices, emphasizing that Georgia's death should serve as a deterrent. Fleming stated that Georgia was manually strangled by her partner during sexual activity, which constituted an assault and noted that she could not have consented to the fatal outcome. There was no evidence suggesting Luke intended to kill her, the report said.
The investigations revealed that Georgia had been influenced by Luke, with noticeable changes in her behavior. Text messages indicated she had consented to certain sexual practices with him, the report said. .
A BBC report, citing court proceedings said, Luke Cannon, 31, took his girlfriend Georgia Brooke to the hospital on the night of February 3, 2022. However, he fled through a fire exit before the police could question him. A murder investigation was initiated, but Cannon was later found dead in a wooded area near Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Forensic pathologist Chris Johnson, as cited by BBC, testified that the pressure on Brooke's neck must have been sustained for a period of time after she lost consciousness for it to be fatal.
Coroner Martin Fleming concluded that although there was no evidence Cannon intended to kill his girlfriend, he had applied "excessive" force, the report said.
