Delhi Police asks NEET candidates to plan for travel delays amid BRICS Summit traffic curbs.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a travel advisory for candidates appearing for the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination in the national capital on September 9 and 10, warning that traffic restrictions and diversions linked to the BRICS Summit could affect travel to examination centres.

The agency said candidates travelling to their centres may encounter congestion, route diversions and delays as security and traffic management arrangements are put in place across parts of Delhi. It has advised candidates to plan their journeys in advance and make suitable travel arrangements to avoid delays in reaching their examination centres.

NTA flags possible congestion and route diversions

The 18th BRICS Summit is scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from September 11 to 13. According to the NTA, extensive security arrangements are being made in connection with the summit, with the Delhi Traffic Police and other concerned authorities expected to impose traffic restrictions and diversions in different parts of the city.

The NTA said the UGC-NET examination centres are not located in areas expected to be directly affected by the major restrictions. However, candidates travelling to the centres could still face delays because of traffic management measures on certain routes.

The agency has therefore asked candidates to account for possible disruptions while planning their journey to the examination centre.

UGC-NET re-exam schedule for September 9 and 10

The re-examination covers three UGC-NET June 2026 papers: English, Commerce and Sociology. The NTA had announced the re-test last month following complaints regarding several errors in the question papers.

The Sociology paper is scheduled for September 10 from 9 am to 12 noon in the first shift.

Candidates appearing for these papers in Delhi have been specifically advised to consider the possibility of traffic congestion and diversions while travelling to their respective examination centres.
