UGC NET December: Who can apply for JRF, Assistant Professor and PhD programs
Candidates wishing to apply for the UGC NET December exam must meet the following eligibility criteria:- Must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- There is no age limit for candidates applying for Assistant Professor positions.
- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must satisfy the age requirements specified by the UGC.
- Applicants should verify the subject-wise eligibility and minimum marks criteria before applying.

UGC NET December 2025: How to apply online
Eligible candidates can apply online for the UGC NET December session by following these steps:- Visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in or nta.ac.in.
- Click on “New Registration” and fill in your personal and educational details.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and PwD certificate (if applicable).
Pay the application fee online:
- General/EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹1,150
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹325
- OBC-NCL/EWS: ₹600
