Uber driver earns Rs 80,000 in rent every month but still drives 12 hours a day; his reason wins hearts online
An Uber driver has gone viral after a content creator shared his inspiring story on Instagram. While many assumed he was driving to make ends meet, the reality turned out to be very different.

According to the viral post, the driver earns around Rs 80,000 every month in rental income from two flats near Noida Electronic City. Yet, he continues to spend nearly 12 hours a day driving an Uber. His reason has struck a chord with thousands on social media.

Viral Instagram post shares driver's inspiring story

The story was shared by Instagram content creator Aastha Seth, who recounted a brief but memorable conversation.

She said the driver is originally from Samastipur, Bihar, and previously worked at a relative's factory in Delhi. However, his life changed after he suffered a heart attack last year.

According to Seth, the driver told her that after his medical emergency, his relative considered him incapable of doing physically demanding work and asked him to leave the factory.

Driver earns Rs 80,000 in rent but chooses to keep working

In her post, Seth revealed that the driver owns two flats worth around Rs 80 lakh in a residential society near Noida Electronic City.

The properties reportedly generate around Rs 80,000 in monthly rent, meaning he has a stable source of passive income and does not have to work for financial survival.

Despite this, he continues to drive passengers every day.

Why does he still drive 12 hours a day?

According to the Instagram post, the driver works from 10 am to 10 pm, earning an additional Rs 50,000 per month.

Seth explained that his motivation goes beyond money.

After being told he was no longer useful following his heart attack, the driver chose to keep working to prove that a medical condition does not define a person's worth or ability.

She added that he has two daughters, for whom he has set aside the two flats, and also owns ancestral property in Bihar.

For him, driving is about maintaining his dignity, confidence and independence.

"He wasn't boasting, he was simply sharing"

Reflecting on the encounter, Seth said the driver's calm and positive attitude left a lasting impression.

She wrote that he spoke without seeking sympathy or praise and simply shared his journey with honesty.

According to her, the brief interaction became a powerful reminder that resilience often comes from refusing to let setbacks define one's life.

Social media praises the driver's determination

The Instagram post quickly gained traction, with users flooding the comments section to applaud the driver's outlook on life.

One user wrote, "Kudos to people like him."

Another commented, "Stories like these put life into perspective. They remind us to be grateful for what we have and motivate us to keep working hard."

A third user said, "I am from Samastipur, and this man is amazing."

Another simply wrote, "This is so inspiring."

Many others reacted with heart emojis, calling the driver an example of resilience, self-respect and perseverance.
