Captioned "Goodbye Mufasa, long live the king!", the video has managed to garner more than 3 million views and over 6,000 re-tweets. The post has also received over 700 comments and over 40,000 likes as it continues to gain popularity on social media.
"Long live the king" were the last words that were spoken by Scar to Mufasa before he let his brother fall to his death. The video shows the two cats embroiled in a fight before one slips in an uncanny similarity when Mufasa clings on to the side of the cliff and pleads with Scar to help him.
The cat on the rooftop appears to scratch the other cat's paws and swats him off the roof, the video shows.
In the beloved Disney classic, Scar cunningly throws Mufasa into the stampede and the scene shows Scar standing on top of a hill and Mufasa hanging from the cliff.
The video of the two cats reminded people about the scene from the movie and a user wrote, "Scar was there the whole time without offering any help for Mufasa." (sic)
As he fell he screamed "I will get revenge meow!," said another.
While another user assumed that Mufasa will return back in Simba 2, another one said the video looked like an "Indian drama scene."
"Oh shit that took me back to my childhood…Liko King," wrote another.
