Arshdeep Singh made his International debut with the 1st T20I of the series against England on Thursday. He was in the Indian squad for the T20I series against South Africa and was a part of the Indian team for the Ireland T20I. Although he did not play in any of these matches, he featured in the practice matches against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire.

The pacer received his India cap from captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday. With a first maiden over on his T20I debut against England, Arshdeep claimed a record and became the third Indian bowler to bowl a maiden over on his T20I debut. Jhulan Goswami and Ajit Agarkar had the earlier records.

He took 2 for 18 in India's 50-run win over England at Southampton, bagging the wickets of Matt Parkinson and Reece Topley.

Arshdeep's craft has received massive appreciation from his fans on Twitter and everywhere. Here are a few Twitter posts:

'One of the most deserving players finally gets his debut cap today. So happy for Arshdeep Singh',
'Finally, a left-arm bowler into Indian XI. Happy for Arshdeep'.
The young player performed excellently at the India Premier League 2022. He got recognition as a death-overs specialist while playing for the Punjab Kings franchise. His consistency and excellence earned him an opportunity to play for India against South Africa in T20Is.
