A passenger recently travelling on an Indigo flight took Twitter by storm when he posted a screenshot of the price break-up of the ticket fare. The screenshot instantly caught the attention of the Twitterati, who posted hilarious comments.

A Twitter user with the name Shantanu posted a long list of charges that included airfare charges, seat fees, convenience fee, airport security fee, user development fee and a ‘cute charge’ of Rs. 100.
The user captioned by highlighting the ‘Cute charge’ saying that he knows he is getting cuter with age but never thought that Indigo would start charging him for it. CUTE is the short form for Common User Terminal Equipment and is a set of charges taken from the passenger for using escalators, check-in desks, metal detectors, and other such equipment and facilities at the airport. It is levied by the Airport Authority of India.

But netizens cannot remain silent seeing such a post, and they posted a barrage of comments. A user commented that next, they would start charging for using toilets and name them ‘Loo Fee’, while another user said it's okay to pay Rs. 100 if someone is referring me as cute, the pain of being single. Some other users criticized the airline for levying unnecessary charges, while some others tried to educate users and explained the terminology.

In a short span, the Twitter post garnered nearly 9,000 likes and over 600 retweets. Indigo also responded to one of the retweets explaining the terminology and how it is levied in select airports only.
