But there's one question that doing the rounds on social media- will Vijay's TVK join hands with the DMK and AIADMK? TVK has ruled out any possibility of an alliance with DMK, AIADMK and BJP and hopes that it will form the government on its own.
“DMK was running about in a dark room, now they know the reality, TVK will form govt on its own,” TVK’s spokesperson Felix Gerald told PTI.
TVK's stunning debut in Tamil Nadu
The ruling DMK, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, is trailing with leads in 55 seats. The early trends suggest that TVK’s debut election has disrupted the long-standing dominance of Dravidian majors, positioning the party as a serious contender in multiple regions. Most exit polls predicted that DMK will win for the second consecutive time in the state.But things took an interesting turn as Axis My India predicted that Vijay Thalapathy might emerge as a kingmaker in Tamil Nadu, the citadel of Dravidian politics for over 50 years. Axis My India and predicted that his party could win 98-100 seats.
What Vijay said about DMK, BJ
The actor-turned-TVK leader closed his campaign on Tuesday at the YMCA Ground in Chennai where he vowed to send DMK government to home. “This is the last campaign of the election that is going to send the DMK government home.”He accused the DMK government of burdening citizens through taxes and rising costs. “After deceiving the people with false promises, they have increased house tax, water tax, professional tax, prices, and garbage tax. They have only raised the sufferings of the people,” he said, before widening the target.
DMK political enemy, BJP ideological
“Our political enemy is the DMK, our ideological enemy is the BJP; there is no change in this,” he said, reaffirming a line central to the TVK’s positioning.
