Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ has given Hindi films a reason to breathe a sigh of relief after grossing well in its first weekend. The Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor romantic comedy released on Holi and performed well over the long weekend.

According to industry tracker Saclink, the Luv Ranjan film earned Rs 17.50 crore net in India on Sunday, the fifth day of its release. The film had a box office collection of Rs 15.73 crore on Wednesday , Rs 10.34 crore on Thursday, Rs 10.52 crore on Friday, and Rs 16.57 crore on Saturday. This is Ranbir Kapoor's second hit in the last two years. He previously delivered a hit with Brahmastra, which boosted the box office performance of an otherwise underwhelming 2022.

The year 2023 has not changed much. Following the success of Pathaan, the highest-earning Hindi film ever, films such as Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee and Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada have struggled at the box office.

Since the pandemic, it has been hard for the Hindi film industry to make even Rs 100 crore, so a Rs 125 crore finish is also a good sign. The first word of mouth about Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which included the author's opinion, was not what the weekend trend showed, but the weekend trend does show that the reports are good enough to get the movie through. The results from the weekend were good, and now everyone is looking forward to Monday.
