Triumph Motorcycles seems to be preparing to expand its lineup, with the iconic Thruxton series in focus. The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 was recently spotted testing, sparking interest among motorcycle enthusiasts. This model appears to blend modern engineering with the brand’s classic heritage, offering a unique addition to its existing lineup.

Triumph Thruxton 400 Design and Features

The Thruxton 400 retains its vintage charm with a round headlight integrated into a fairing that extends toward the fuel tank. It features clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, and a single-piece scooped seat with a grab rail at the rear. Based on the same platform as the Speed 400, the Thruxton 400 showcases a similar design ethos while offering a distinct tuning in its engine and performance dynamics.

Triumph Thruxton 400 Engine and Specifications

The bike is powered by the same 399cc single-cylinder engine as the Speed 400. This motor produces 39.5 bhp of power and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400, the Thruxton 400 aims to cater to a broader audience.

The Legacy of Triumph Thruxton

The Thruxton name holds significant historical value for Triumph. It originated from the Thruxton Circuit in England, where Triumph bikes secured the top three positions in the 500-mile endurance race. This achievement highlighted Triumph’s engineering excellence, inspiring the creation of the Thruxton series. Over the years, models like the Thruxton Bonneville, Thruxton 900, and Thruxton 1200 have carried forward this legacy.

Triumph Thruxton Launch and Expected Price

Triumph is likely to be launch the Thruxton 400 cafe racer bike around May-June. With the Speed 400 priced at Rs 2.40 lakh and the Scrambler 400X at Rs 2.65 lakh, the Thruxton 400 is expected to be positioned between the two, likely around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
