Tristan Stubbs takes one of the best catches you'll see: Watch video

It's one of the most spectacular catches in recent times. South Africa's Tristan Stubbs dived and grabbed a catch one-handed to dismiss England's Moeen Ali, and cricket fans can't stop admiring it.

It happened in the third and final T20I between England and South Africa at Southampton. Chasing 192 to win, England were lagging behind at 59/3 in the 10th over bowled by Aiden Markram. The part-time offspinner came round the stumps, and Ali made a bit of room and tried to go over extra cover. The lefthanded batter got a leading edge and for a moment the ball hung in the air, Stubbs standing well inside the 30-yard circle turned and ran for it, before diving to his left and plucking it out of thin air with his wrong hand. 'Breathtaking,' the voice from the box shouted on air.

'One of the best catches you'll ever see,' posted England Cricket on Twitter while sharing a video clip, which raced close to half a million views in just over half a day.


Fans disappointed with England's poor show did not fail to appreciate that top effort by Stubbs.

England were all out for a mere 101, South Africa won the match by 90 runs and took the T20I series 2-1. It's a bad start for England's new white-ball captain Jos Buttler. The series losses against India and South Africa could hit team morale ahead of the T20I World Cup later this year.
