Traffic jams have been reported at several places in Delhi on Tuesday morning, specifically in the central and southern parts. The capital city is gearing up for a three-day-long G20 Summit as delegates from foreign countries will be arriving on Wednesday.

Commuters in certain areas like Bhairon Marg, Sardar Patel Marg, Modi Mill Flyover, Palam Flyover, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantonment and Dwarka Road have complained about snarls extending to over 20 minutes. Commuters, who faced traffic near India Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road, said that unmanned police barricades caused disruption of traffic.

A Delhi Traffic police officer said that some works carried out for the G20 Summit are a major reason behind these jams. Other than that, morning office hours also contributed to this. Delhi Traffic Police, on Monday, said that they will avoid any aversion or route closure for the G20 Summit.

The itinerary of the delegates has been stated by a senior traffic police officer.
