AI Summit 2026: Metro services will continue to operate normally, though buses and taxis may face diversions during VIP movement
As the five-day AI Summit kick starts today in Delhi, the Police has rolled out elaborate arrangements to ensure minimal disruption to commuters and students appearing for board examinations. The AI Summit is scheduled to take place from February 16 to February 20 and in this regard, the traffic is likely to remain restricted or regulated around Mathura Road, Sardar Patel Marg, Janpath, Akbar Road and Shanti Path, among others. According to Delhi Traffic Police, movement on Bhairon Marg and parts of Mathura Road may also face temporary restrictions.

Al Impact Summit-2026 will be held in Delhi from 16-20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event will be attended by Heads of State (HOS), Heads of Government (HOG), Ministers and Delegates of invited countries, as well as Heads of International Organizations.

Which routes to take?

  • Police have kept a main north–south corridor open to ease movement across the city. Police have kept a main north–south corridor open, largely along Ring Road, connecting key points such as Ashram Chowk, ISBT Kashmere Gate, Azadpur, Punjabi Bagh, Dhaula Kuan and AIIMS, making it the most reliable route for crossing the city.
  • Passengers heading to railway stations should start early.For New Delhi Railway Station, use routes via ISBT Kashmere Gate, Ashram–Ring Road–Rajghat, or Vande Mataram Marg and Panchkuian Road towards Connaught Place.
  • Those travelling to Old Delhi Railway Station can go via ISBT Kashmere Gate and Ring Road or Rani Jhansi Marg and Boulevard Road, while commuters for Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station can take AIIMS–Ring Road–Ashram or ISBT Kashmere Gate–Ring Road–Rajghat–Ashram routes.

AI Summit 2026: Restricted areas and traffic regulations

Bhairon Marg (Excluding Ring Road T-Point), Mathura Road (Between Subramania Bharti Marg T- Point to Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk) roads will be restricted today. The general vehicles entry will not be allowed during the route movements.

Routes to Airport Terminals (T1, T2, T3, T4)



• From New Delhi & South Delhi to T1, T2, T3, T4: AIIMS Chowk → Ring Road → Moti Bagh Chowk → Rao Tula Ram (RTR) Marg → Sanjay T-Point → Ullan Batar Marg

• From West Delhi to T1, T2, T3, T4: Punjabi Bagh Chowk → Ring Road → Raja Garden Chowk → Najafgarh Road → Pankha Road → Dabri–Dwarka Road → Road No. 224 (Dabri–Gurugram Road) → Sector-22 Dwarka Road → UER-II → Service Road NH-48 → T3 Terminal Road

• From North & East Delhi to T1, T2, T3, T4: ISBT Kashmiri Gate → Rani Jhansi Flyover → Rohtak Road → Punjabi Bagh Chowk → Ring Road → Raja Garden Chowk → Najafgarh Road → Pankha Road → Dabri–Dwarka Road → Road No. 224 (Dabri–Gurugram Road) → Sector-22 Dwarka Road → UER-II → Service Road NH-48 → T3 Terminal Road

AI Summit 2026: Bus and metro services

Metro services will continue to operate normally, though buses and taxis may face diversions during VIP movement. Buses may be given the necessary diversions during the WIP movements. Taxis may not be allowed to be parked on the roads except in designated parking places and the necessary diversions may be given during the VIP movements.

"Vehicles not destined for Delhi will be compulsorily diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways and other alternate routes. Such vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi," the advisory said.

"Movement of passengers to airports and various railway stations will be facilitated. There will be no restrictions on the following corridor, and the public may use this corridor to reach their destinations. Ring Road-Ashram Chowk- Sarai Kale Khan - Raj Ghat- ISBT Kashmiri Gate - Azadpur - Punjabi Bagh-Dhaula Kuan - AIIMS- Ashram Chowk," it added.

In view of traffic regulations, motorists may travel to Airport Terminals via Metro services.

• From Gurugram to T3, T4, T2: NH-48- Rao Gajraj Singh Marg - Old Delhi Gurugram Road - UER II-Service Road NH-48-T3 Terminal Road.

• From Gurugram to T1: NH-48- Under Mahipalpur Flyover-T-3 Road | NH-48 - Under Mahipalpur Flyover-NH-48-Ulan Bator Marg-T-1 Road.

• From Dwarka to T3, T4, T2, T1: Sector-22 Dwarka Road-UER II (Newly Operated Tunnel to T3). • From New Delhi & South Delhi to T3: AIIMS Chowk - Ring Road-Moti Bagh Chowk - RTR Marg-Sanjay T-Point-Service Road NH-48-T3 Terminal Road.
