‘Totally a fraud account’: R. Madhavan exposes fake Instagram profile pretending to represent him, warns fans

Actor R. Madhavan has alerted his fans about a fake social media account impersonating him and claiming to represent him online. The actor urged people to remain cautious and confirmed that steps are being taken to hold the person behind the fraudulent profile accountable.

The warning comes amid growing concerns about impersonation scams on social media platforms.

R. Madhavan Issues Warning About Fake Social Media Account

R. Madhavan took to Instagram on Saturday to share a screenshot of the alleged fraudulent account. In his post, the actor clearly stated that the account is not connected to him or his team in any way.

He mentioned the username of the fake account in his caption. "FRAUD ALLERT … THIS PERSON IS NOT CONNECTED TO ME OR MY TEAM IN ANY WAY. THEY CLAIM TO PRESENT ME AND SPEAK TO PEOPLE ON THE I SOCIAL MEDIA ON MY BEHALF. THIS IS TOTALLY A FRAUD ACCOUNT KINDLY BE AWARE," he wrote.

The actor also emphasised that the account falsely claims to represent him and communicate with people on his behalf.

In a strongly worded message, R. Madhavan wrote that the profile is “totally a fraud account” and urged followers to remain aware and avoid interacting with it.

R. Madhavan Clarifies He Has No Other Social Media Representatives

According to R. Madhavan, there are no other accounts authorised to speak or act on his behalf on social media.

The actor made it clear that any account claiming to represent him is misleading people. He also reassured fans that appropriate action is being taken to identify and hold the person responsible accountable.

Such impersonation attempts have become increasingly common on social media platforms, often targeting celebrities and public figures.

R. Madhavan’s Upcoming Film Project

Apart from addressing the fraud issue, R. Madhavan is also preparing for the release of his upcoming film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which is scheduled to hit theatres on 19 March.

The film is directed by Aditya Dhar and serves as a sequel to Dhurandhar. In the movie, R. Madhavan portrays Ajay Sanyal, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau.
