Tirumala is gearing up for the annual Ratha Saptami festival on January 25, 2026, with over two lakh devotees expected at the hill shrine. To manage the huge crowd, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced the cancellation of all arjitha sevas, special darshans, and slotted Sarva Darshan tokens between January 24 and 26.

Tirumala Ratha Saptami 2026: Privilege darshans suspended

TTD has suspended all forms of privilege darshans on Ratha Saptami, including those for NRIs, parents with infants, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. Arjitha sevas such as Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva will not take place on festival day.

Ratha Saptami 2026 Tirumala: VIP darshans restrictions

Except for protocol dignitaries, all VIP break darshans will remain cancelled. TTD has also clarified that no recommendation letters for break darshans will be accepted on January 24. Officials emphasised that these steps are aimed at ensuring smooth darshan for general devotees and preventing overcrowding.

Ratha Saptami 2026: Devotee safety arrangements

During a departmental review at Annamayya Bhavan, TTD officials were directed to make full arrangements for security, traffic, parking, queue management, annaprasadam and laddu distribution, sanitation, and emergency medical services. Cultural programmes will be held throughout the day, and LED screens will be installed in high-density areas so devotees can clearly view the vahana sevas.

Tirumala Vahana seva schedule on Ratha Saptami

TTD has announced the following vahana seva schedule on January 25:

  • 5.30 am – 8.00 am: Surya Prabha Vahanam
  • 9.00 am – 10.00 am: Chinna Sesha Vahanam
  • 11.00 am – 12.00 noon: Garuda Vahanam
  • 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm: Hanumantha Vahanam
  • 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm: Chakra Snanam
  • 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm: Kalpavriksha Vahanam
  • 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm: Sarvabhoopala Vahanam
  • 8.00 pm – 9.00 pm: Chandra Prabha Vahanam

Lord Malayappa Swamy, along with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, will be taken out in these processions along the four mada streets surrounding the temple, in addition to the Chakrasnanam ceremony.

TTD chairman BR Naidu, EO Anil Kumar Singhal, additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, and CVSO KV Murali Krishna inspected the arrangements ahead of the festival. About 1,300 police personnel and 1,200 TTD security staff will be deployed to maintain order. TTD has also set up 85 food counters across the galleries to provide meals and refreshments to devotees.

Officials have urged devotees to follow guidelines, maintain discipline, and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a safe and smooth darshan experience during the festival.
