Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, revealed that their TikTok competitor, YouTube Shorts, now has more than 50 billion daily views. The number of YouTube Shorts views has increased by 20 billion views since the last time the tech giant reported.

Sundar Pichai stated during the analysts' call late Thursday that their subscription business is growing, with YouTube Music and Premium surpassing 80 million subscribers, including trials. They have a lot of traction thanks to their YouTube Primetime channel subscriptions and YouTube TV.

According to the Google executive, the increasing number of views will help the company improve the Shorts experience for everyone while also rewarding the creators who share their content.

YouTube previously revealed that it will pay around $2 billion a year for rights to the National Football League's "Sunday Ticket". Pichai believes that YouTube's NFL Sunday Ticket will boost subscriptions, attract new viewers to YouTube's paid and ad-supported experiences, and open up new avenues for creators.

YouTube's ad revenue was $7.96 billion. It was down 8% from $8.63 billion in the previous year's December quarter.

Sundar Pichai stated that there are numerous opportunities to build on YouTube's progress over the years, beginning with Shorts monetisation.
