'Thunivu' 3rd weekend Box office collection: Ajith Kumar's film hits Rs. 130 crores
'Thunivu' is virtually at the end of its box office run after earning about Rs. 4.50 crores during its third weekend in India.

Tamil Nadu contributed nearly the whole weekend's collections, with Rs. 4.30 crores, a 60% decrease from the previous weekend. Thunivu box office collections in Tamil Nadu are estimated to be Rs. 108.50 crores. This makes it the state's second highest-grossing Ajith film, trailing only his 2019 movie ‘Viswasam’. The conflict with ‘Varisu’ certainly aided the picture because it had an advantage in terms of screenings throughout the Christmas season, giving it the advantage of counter-programming. Thunivu box office collection took a hit once the holiday season ended, but it didn't fall.
Thunivu box office collections at the Indian market-
First Week (9 days)- Rs. 108 crores
Second week- Rs. 17.50 crores
Third Saturday- Rs. 1.60 crores
Third Sunday- Rs. 2 crores
Making a total of Rs. 130 crores.
Outside of Tamil Nadu, the film performed well in Karnataka, where it became Ajith's highest grosser with Rs. 11.50 crores. Kerala may have done better, but the figures are higher than in previous Ajith films.
The action-packed film stars Ajith in a slightly negative role as a character who kidnaps hostages in a bank as police struggle to figure out who he is. Fans applauded Ajith's appearance and portrayal as the “bad bug” despite the film's slower pace.
