Jhansi also featured among the hottest cities, recording 45.2°C, 3.3 degrees above normal. Heatwave conditions were confined to Jhansi, Orai and Banda in the Bundelkhand region.
Notably, Banda’s 47.6°C is its highest-ever temperature for April, surpassing the previous record of 47.4°C recorded on April 30, 2022 and April 25, 2026.
In the state capital, Lucknow recorded a maximum of 40.8°C (0.8 degrees above normal) and a minimum of 24.8°C (1.7 degrees above normal).
Other places where temperatures crossed 44°C included Agra (44.4°C), and Prayagraj, Hamirpur and Orai (44.2°C each).
The Met department has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places across western and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
