'You scratch my back...' Anand Mahindra says this lemur forgot the rest

This 43-second video clip, purportedly from Madagascar, was the subject of industrialist Anand Mahindra's humour

Two young boys scratch the back of a lemur. The moment they stop, the lemur animatedly gestures them to carry on. This happens twice, with the kids smiling and the lemur seriously demanding that they continue.

This 43-second video clip, purportedly from Madagascar, was the subject of industrialist Anand Mahindra's humour in a tweet he shared on Thursday.'

"Someone must have told this lemur about the old principle of ‘you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.’ The Lemur conveniently seems to have forgotten the second part…," he wrote.

‘You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ is a figurative expression similar in meaning to quid pro quo, or a favour for a favour. In this case, he gave it a literal twist.

The video went viral with more than 2.2 lakh views in six hours and many coming out with their own jokes on the video

"With the lemur, it is actually ‘If you stop scratching me, I WILL SCRATCH YOU’", commented another.

And many others who saw the video thought they saw King Julien, the sassy lemur of 'Madagascar'. In any case he does seem to act like a king.
