Many of you who receive those fake SMS and WhatsApp messages on job offers would totally relate to this.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan has shared a screenshot of a message he received recently, apparently as part of a bid to try and scam him

"Your resume is received in our company and the salary is ₹ 9,700," the message said, adding a WhatsApp link asking him to contact for further details.


"Finally got the job offer. Now confused what to do," the IFS officer joked.

"Dear friends these days many fraudulent people or agencies keep sending this kind of SMS and Emails. Don’t react or click on the links. It can lead to data theft, hacking or financial fraud. Be safe," his next tweet cautioned.

Many of those who responded shared similar messages they got of fake job offers.

"I also got similar message from Maharashtra State Electricity Board yesterday. Though my salary was in 5 figures," commented another.

"Sir package Very less.. I usually got offers like 8000 rs per hour," said a third user.

A lot of others asked what should be done to stop or even trap such scamsters who could be part of phishing attack.
