Thief tries to snatch mobile from train. Passengers grab his hands, keep him hanging on window for 10 km

A thief's plan to snatch mobile phone from a passenger in running train went horribly wrong in Bihar. A video of the incident has gone viral on the social media in which the thief can be seen hanging through the window of the train, with both his arms grabbed by passengers.

According to some reports, the incident happened on September 14 when the train was about to reach the Khagaria station. A thief tried to snatch the mobile phone of a passenger through the window grills at Sahebpur Kamal station. But an alert passenger grabbed his arm instead. As the train started moving, the thief pleaded for mercy, and eventually slid his other arm in through the window rails for the passengers to hold him afloat.

As per reports, he kept hanging afloat on the running train for 10 km, after which he was finally let go when the train was about to reach Khagaria. He ran away after being released.


The train snatching incidents are very common in Bihar. Recently a video was shot inside a train in Bihar showing a pickpocket perched on a bridge grabbing the wallet of a passenger through the window.

A similar snatching incident happened in June when a policewoman got seriously injured. She was pulled out of a moving train near the Katihar railway station.

Police constable Aarti Kumari was standing close to the door with her mobile phone in hand when the train slowed down near the station, and the snatchers struck. She resisted, at which the men pulled her out.
