In a video tweeted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the dam can be seen in all it's glory, a visual that drew equal amounts of praise and flak on the internet.

The move also drew critique with one user saying that it was "much more important to focus on economic, social and technological development," adding that "too much celebration of anniversaries is a typical sign of non-achievers"
