Thalaivar 170 release announced: Rajinikanth-starrer to be released in 2024

Lyca Productions recently unveiled superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited movie ‘Thalaivar 170’ on March 2.

The film will be directed by TG Gnanavel, best known for the critically acclaimed movie ‘Jai Bhim,’ and will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander. Significantly, this project marks the third collaboration on which Rajinikanth and Lyca Productions have worked together, after their work on the critically acclaimed films ‘Darbar’ and ‘Kaala.’

The news was published on the social media accounts of the production firm on the occasion of Lyca Chairman Subaskaran’s birthday. The movie is also special since it will be Rajinikanth’s 170th movie in the film industry.

The film will shortly begin production and be released in 2024. In the TJ Gnanavel-directed movie, Rajinikanth is supposed to be portraying a cop, which is claimed to be based on real-life events and includes a social message like the director’s last film, ‘Jai Bhim.'



Apart from this, Rajinikanth is currently shooting the movie ‘Jailer’, which is now in the final stages of production. It will be his 169th film, and it was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is reported that the majority of the film was shot within a jail.

Reportedly, the film's production has been moving rather quickly. The movie also stars Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, and Malayalam actor Vinayakan in addition to Rajinikanth. Malayalam celebrity Mohanlal and Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar are also making cameo appearances in the movie.

Additionally, Rajinikanth will also start production on "Lal Salaam," which will be directed by his daughter Aishwarya. Reportedly, Rajinikanth will make a lengthy cameo appearance in a sports drama and will be seen sporting a new look.
