Marriage proposal that never happened
According to the report, Ashu Reddy and her family are under investigation by the Hyderabad City Central Crime Station following a complaint alleging Rs 9.35 crore fraud. The complaint was filed on April 20 by Yenumula Satyanarayana, who alleged that his son Y V Dharmendra, a London-based software engineer, met Reddy in 2018 and entered a relationship based on marriage assurances.ALSO READ: Oracle layoffs not random?
"Once she accepted the proposal, she told the victim that there was some issue with her H-1B visa. She also told him about a pending education loan she had taken for her master's in the US," a cop told Times of India, adding that the Telugu Bigg Boss fame sought monetary help from the victim, saying that her father had stopped supporting her financially and that she wanted to pursue a career in films.
The complainant alleged that Dharmendra provided substantial financial support for Reddy’s personal expenses and assets like gold, vehicles, and real estate, adding that the family used the marriage promise to obtain these funds but later on did not fulfill the commitment.
"But whenever the complainant raised the subject of marriage, the accused made excuses to buy more time. Finally, when he insisted on arranging a meeting between the two families in July 2020, she turned down his proposal," the cop was quoted as saying by TOI. "When the victim, shocked by the rejection, asked her to return the money she had taken, she began avoiding him."
Actress's family contacts victim again
The complainant alleged that the actress' family contacted him again in 2020 and claimed she had slipped into depression after the break-up and urged him to meet her and revive the relationship. "On the actress' request, the victim agreed to marry her and even met her father regarding this in Nov 2023.However, although the family initially agreed, they backed out again in July 2025," the cop said. Since December 2025, there has been no communication from her. "Later, the victim learned that the accused was in another relationship and had conspired to extort money from him," the complaint stated.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Sunday, the actor denied the allegations, saying, “I would like to clarify that false information is being circulated without my consent. I strongly deny the allegations being made against me.
