Telangana Weather Hyderabad update today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana, issuing a yellow alert for multiple districts as a weather system over the Bay of Bengal begins to strengthen. The department said light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in many areas over the next two days, while some districts may see heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Telangana Weather Today: Bay of Bengal system set to intensify

According to IMD, a surface system over the southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen soon, bringing moisture-laden winds into southern India. Under its influence, rain and thunderstorms are likely to develop in different parts of Telangana, with moderate rainfall expected in several places.

A surface trough at around 0.9 km above sea level is also extending from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra via Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This combined system is expected to increase rainfall activity across the state.

Rain likely in Hyderabad today

In Hyderabad, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy in the morning, with rain activity likely to increase later in the day or during the night. IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall in parts of the city by evening or night, with some areas likely to receive heavy showers.

Across Telangana, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely today and tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is expected in southern and central districts under the influence of the low-pressure system and trough.

Telangana Weather Update: Yellow alert issued for several districts

IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, Warangal, Hanumankonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Nagarkurnool districts.

At the same time, heavy rainfall is possible in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Rajanna Sircilla districts, though officials said there is no sign of extremely heavy rain at present.
