Over 60 students from a government-run Girls Residential School in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district were hospitalised after they complained of vomiting, stomach ache, and diarrhoea following their dinner on Saturday night.

According to officials quoted by PTI, the incident occurred at the residential school in Uyyalawada village. A total of 64 students fell ill and were admitted to a government hospital. Health officials confirmed that 50 of them were discharged after treatment, and all students are now in stable condition.

Preliminary findings suggest that curd served during dinner may not have been fully fermented, and this could have led to food poisoning. Samples of the food and drinking water have been collected and sent for testing.

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. “The exact cause will be confirmed after lab results. Strict action will follow if any negligence is found,” officials said.
