Telangana declares 3-day holiday for schools and colleges aimd heavy rains
As incessant rains continue to lash Telangana, the state has declared three days of holiday for educational institutions as part of preliminary measures.

"Three days holiday for educational institutions. All measures have been taken to face the incessant rains and floods," Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said on Sunday.

A second flood warning was issued on Monday as the water levels in the Godavari river crossed the 48 feet mark.

A red alert was issued in eight districts - Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Adilabad and the capital city Hyderabad - after the IMD on Sunday forecast more rains over 24 hours.

Following the alert, KCR ordered the top officials to take immediate measures to prevent the loss of lives in the wake of the weather department's warning against heavy rains in the state.
