The case was registered after the bureau found that the officer had allegedly amassed wealth far exceeding his lawful income by indulging in corrupt practices during his service. According to an official press note dated January 21, ACB officials conducted searches at Reddy’s residence and seven other locations linked to him and his relatives.
During the searches, several immovable properties owned by the officer and his family members were detected. These include two residential houses, comprising a villa and a flat, valued at Rs 4.65 crore, a commercial shop worth Rs 60 lakh, eight open plots valued at Rs 65 lakh, and agricultural land measuring 14.25 acres valued at Rs 50 lakh. Officials said the actual market value of these properties is likely to be significantly higher than the declared figures.
The searches also led to the seizure of substantial movable assets, including cash amounting to Rs 30.30 lakh, bank balances of Rs 44.03 lakh, three four-wheeler vehicles valued at Rs 40 lakh, household articles worth Rs 11 lakh, and gold ornaments weighing 297 grams valued at Rs 4.35 lakh.
According to the ACB, the book value of the assets identified so far is estimated at Rs 7.69 crore, while their market value is believed to exceed Rs 50 crore. Further verification is underway to trace additional assets and ascertain the exact extent of disproportionate wealth accumulated by the accused officer.
