Taylor Swift has been named the best-selling global artist of 2025 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), marking the sixth time the superstar has won the title. The IFPI, which represents the global recorded music industry, highlighted Swift’s sustained dominance across physical, digital, and streaming formats worldwide.

Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, played a major role in her recognition, selling more copies in its first week than any other album in the modern era, according to data from Billboard and Luminate. The release of the documentary The End of an Era, which showcased her tour, further boosted global engagement, drawing millions of viewers across multiple platforms.

Swift was first named IFPI global recording artist of the year in 2014 and has since received the award in 2019 and consecutively from 2022 to 2024. Her six wins in total equal the number of awards earned by all other artists combined over the past decade, a milestone the IFPI said reflects both her creative consistency and the long-term strategies behind her global music releases. The IFPI calculates the award based on worldwide sales across streaming, downloads, and physical formats, covering an artist’s entire body of work over the calendar year.

In 2025, K-pop sensation Stray Kids took second place in the global rankings, while Canadian rapper Drake secured the third position. Swift’s continued success underscores her ability to adapt to changing music consumption patterns and maintain a strong presence across international markets.

With record-breaking album sales, successful tours, and wide-reaching media engagement, Taylor Swift remains one of the most influential and commercially successful artists of the decade.
