Tata Avinya launch date confirmed: Expected price, timeline and key features of the EV

Tata Avinya EV 2026: Tata Motors has announced that it is planning to launch five new EVs in the next five years. Tata Motors also provided details about the launch of its much-awaited Avinya electric vehicle in India that was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo earlier this year. The EV car will arrive ahead of several competitors and will be positioned as part of the company’s next phase of electric mobility growth in the domestic market.

Tata Motors announced that Avinya EV will be launched by the end of 2026, marking its entry into the premium electric passenger vehicle space. The Avinya will be introduced as Tata Motors expands its electric vehicle portfolio and invests heavily in new platforms, products and charging infrastructure.

Tata Avinya Features and other details

As per reports, Tata Avinya is likely to be based on Tata Motors’ Gen 3 electric vehicle architecture, a skateboard-style platform designed only for battery-electric vehicles. The company has developed this platform to support longer driving range, faster charging and higher software integration.


The architecture also allows better packaging of components and improved structural efficiency, which Tata aims to use across future electric models.

Tata Avinya Price and Interiors

However, it is too early to comment on pricing. However, the expected on-road price in Mumbai could be between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 35 lakh.

Inside, the Avinya is expected to feature a flat floor layout to increase cabin space. The design will follow a minimalist approach, with a lounge-style interior and limited physical clutter.

Tata Motors plans to sell the Avinya as a separate brand with a dedicated sales network. The company is also considering a phygital retail model, combining physical showrooms with digital buying tools.

Tata Motors Upcoming EV Cars

Sierra.ev: The Sierra.ev will be built on the same platform as the Harrier EV. It is expected to offer both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The model will retain the Sierra’s original shape but will include EV-specific design changes, such as a closed front grille.

Punch.ev (Facelift): The electric Punch will receive design and feature updates in line with the petrol Punch facelift. It will continue to be Tata Motors’ most affordable electric SUV.

Avinya: The Avinya range will focus on premium positioning and advanced electric architecture. Tata Motors aims to target buyers looking for higher performance electric vehicles.

Tata Motors EV expansion plan and investments

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles on Tuesday said it will launch five new electric vehicle nameplates by FY30, including the Avinya range, as it targets a 45–50 per cent market share in India’s electric passenger vehicle segment, PTI reported.

The company also said it will invest Rs 16,000–18,000 crore in its EV business between FY25 and FY30. The investment will cover new products and expansion of charging infrastructure, with plans to scale up to more than 10 lakh charging points across the country.
