In a conversation, Tarannum Pathan, an all-rounder and the first female cricketer from Gujarat to be selected for a national camp under the supervision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), shared her excitement for Eid. Despite following a strict diet throughout the year as a professional cricketer, she eagerly looks forward to this day to indulging in homemade delicacies.

Tarannum Pathan shared that despite a recent theft at their home, the month of Ramzan has been good for her. She loves everything about this time of the year, from waking up at 4 am until iftar with her family. She revealed that on the occasion of Eid, her mother and bhabhi prepare delicious chicken biryani and sheer khurma, making the festival all about relishing homemade delicacies for her. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, they celebrated the festival, albeit with muted celebrations.

Tarannum fondly reminisced about her childhood Eid celebrations when her grandfather would have his meal on a table while sitting on a stool, which was a luxury back then. She also mentioned that she would have her meal the same way in honour of her grandfather's tradition.

Tarannum Pathan mentioned that during Ramzan and Eid, they make an effort to help those in need as the festival is also about spreading positivity and extending support to others. Growing up, their financial condition was not great, and there were times when rainwater would seep into their house, and they had no electricity connection. Thus, they couldn't help others during Eid. However, now that things are better, they donate money to the needy, which makes her feel good.

Tarannum also shared that she misses her father dearly on Eid, who used to pamper them on this day. As kids, they would receive ₹50 Eidi from their father, and now, she receives Eidi and new clothes from her brother, jiju, and others. She loves wearing new outfits on this day, which she usually orders online, and sometimes, sponsors also send her new clothes.
