Taraka Ratna suffers from heart attack after fainting in padayatra; Balakrishna provides health update

Taraka Ratna, who was recently seen in S5 No Exit, fainted on Friday while on a padayatra with his cousin, politician Nara Lokesh, in the Chittoor district. While being rushed to the Kuppam hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, the actor suffered a massive heart attack, according to his uncle, actor Balakrishna.

"All his parameters read okay, they have given first aid and taken care of him as well as they can," the actor told the press after visiting his nephew. There is nothing to be concerned about. The doctors have also recommended that we take him to Bengaluru. He suffered a heart attack, and his valves are now blocked."

"He is currently in the ICU. They were able to re-establish his pulse, but he remained unconscious. They are now considering relocating him to Bengaluru. His heart valves are 95% blocked, and he will undergo surgery to insert a stent. They originally planned to fly him in a chopper, but it lacks an oxygen unit and obtaining permission will take time. So they're debating whether to transport him by road in a regular ambulance, "a spokesperson for the family told the media.


The incident occurred shortly after Lokesh began his 4,000-kilometre-long padayatra when there was a stampede-like situation outside a mosque he visited. Following Lokesh's exit from the temple, a large number of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers surged forward. During the melee, the actor collapsed and fainted.
