Bengali actress Tnusree (Tanushree) Chakraborty surprised fans by getting married in an intimate ceremony in the US. The actress, who kept the wedding under wraps, tied the knot with US-based technologist Sujit Basu in Las Vegas. As per Calcutta Times report, the wedding took place in a small private setting, with only a few close people present. Tnusree (Tanushree) was seen in a full-sleeved net lehenga paired with an emerald jewellery set and traditional sankha-pola. Suhit Basu opted for a classic black tuxedo for the ceremony. The couple also performed the sindur daan ritual, keeping the ceremony rooted in Bengali traditions despite the foreign setting.

Who is Tnusree Chakraborty's husband Sujit Basu?

Suhit Basu, Tnusree's husband, is an IT professional and technologist based in Atlanta, USA. The two had known each other for years, but their relationship grew stronger over the past few months. According to Tanushree, the entire wedding was his idea. She shared that he surprised her with the plan, saying simply, “Let’s get hitched,” turning their long-standing bond into a quiet celebration.

Who is Tanusree (Tanushree) Chakraborty?

Tnusree Chakraborty is a well-known face in the Bengali film industry. She started her career as a model and went on to appear in several commercials, including a noted Bangladeshi ad for Pran Powder Spice. Her film breakthrough came with ‘Uro Chithi’ in 2011. She later featured in films such as ‘Bedroom’ (2012), ‘Obhishopto Nighty’ (2014), ‘Window Connections’ (2014) and ‘Buno Haansh’ (2014).


She has also hosted the beauty and lifestyle show ‘Sampurna’ on Zee Bangla.

Tnusree stepped into politics in 2021 by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested the Shyampur seat in the West Bengal Assembly elections.

She exited the party a few months later, explaining that she wanted to concentrate on her acting career and creative projects.

With her quiet wedding in Las Vegas, Tnusree begins a new chapter in her personal life. The couple is yet to reveal plans for a larger celebration, but their intimate ceremony has already become a talking point among fans and industry colleagues.
